Parties and Inspiration

  • Put the icing on the cake by adding this adorable ruffled crepe paper garland from Handmade Laine, an Etsy vendor, around the edge of the table.

  • To make this photo prop, take a light pink felt heart from Michaels and cut it in half in a zigzag pattern. Then use a pre-stick popsicle stick and press onto the back of the bottom of the hearts.

  • Place a lovely pink peony in a small upside down candlestick and fill the small opening with some water. Cut the peony stem very short and stick into the candlestick so that it is flush with the base.

  • To give the table some symmetry, I used pairs of all of the display items for the dessert bar. The six-foot table was first dressed with a fitted white tablecloth from Amazon.

  • For the flower display, gather up assorted small vases and fill them with a variety of pink and white flowers. The flowers featured in this party consisted of Gerber daisies, roses, calla lilies, tulips and peonies.

  • This delicious Cherry Vanilla Puppy Chow recipe came from Shugary Sweets and is definitely a kid favorite. Serve this sweet crunchy snack in these small white condiment cups embellished with pink sparkly hearts from Michaels.

  • Serve up some creamy hot chocolate in these super cute light pink cups embellished with white felt sparkle hearts from Michaels. Then place in these adorable heart drink stir sticks from Naissance, an Etsy vendor, in each cup.

  • Make sure to play some Top 40 music and let the girls dance around with each other. Have them make up some dances to their favorite songs and perform them for the adult audience.

  • Cut some hard stock pink paper hearts in half in a zigzag pattern and write some popular friend phrases, such as Best Buds, My Bestie, Friends Forever and Sisterly Love and use these as added d├ęcor for the dessert table.

  • Small bouquets are easy to make when using flowers like peonies and roses. Simply start with your largest flower and build around it. The flowers featured in this bouquet are the Sarah Bernhart Pink Peony and the Rosita Vende Pink Rose. Mixed together they provide a nice soft look and compliment each other with their light shades of pink.

  • Make some fabulous pink heart-shaped cookies and dip them in white chocolate and top with Valentine's sprinkles. This White Chocolate Cherry Shortbread recipe came from Better Homes and Gardens.

  • Make individual-sized desserts that the girls can just grab and go while they hang out with their friends. Arrange them on nice bright white platters and stands so that the light pink will pop against the dish. Accent the dishes with pink and white hearts and doilies for added detail.

  • Top your vanilla cupcakes with these festive pink fondant hearts from Angel Cakes Etc., an Etsy vendor. They have some sparkle in them that will coordinate perfectly with a pink, white and silver theme.

  • Bake your cupcakes in plain white liners, and then once cooled and iced, place them in another wrapper for some extra detail. Sarah's Tip: To save time, I used a box cake mix and a jar of the whipped-style icing. Using a star tip, I piped on the icing to give it a more professional look.

  • Pick up some pink, strawberry-flavored marshmallows from Target and serve them on a dish with these adorable heart picks from Naissance, an Etsy vendor. Having the marshmallows on these picks will allow the girls to swirl around the sugary treat in their creamy hot chocolate.

  • Attach these white and silver boas from Amazon to the oversized heart balloons and accessorize your table as well as your fashion-savvy besties.
